It was once said that a “law-abiding Englishman could pass through life and hardly notice the existence of the state, beyond the post office and the policeman”. It is hard these days to pretend that that is still the case, so a few years back a gallant band of miscreants got together in a pub to see how much attention the state would pay to a group of law abiding people in fancy dress going for a bracing walk at the start of November. It turned out that the agents of the Government seem to still be a bit sore about the antics of a certain Mr Fawkes so a few hundred years later our gallant band were detained and searched and asked to account for their activities. In varying numbers and weathers they’ve been back every year since to varying responses.
So if your concerned about the erosion of our liberties and the way those that govern over us have betrayed them, why not go for a little walk on the fifth of November (suitable fancy dress strongly encouraged). If you can’t make it into London why not go for a bracing stroll to your local council chamber and admire the architecture will no doubt be fascinating. If you’d like to advertise a local stroll just drop us the details and we’ll happily post it here.
We are of course not in anyway protesting, just going for a walk of quiet remembrance of all the liberties that have been lost over the years after being so hard fought for. If however people want to ask us what we’re doing it’d be terribly rude not to engage in polite conversation about the state of the nation.
More later, and remember there is no reason for any treason to e’er be forgot.

I’ll be there! Suitably attired of course.
